On November 5, 2025, the next meeting of the Judicial-Legal Council was held.
Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the Judicial-Legal Council, Inam Karimov, provided information on the reforms carried out in the judicial-legal field, the work done to improve justice in line with modern challenges, and the tasks ahead.
The meeting approved the draft “Rules for involving judges appointed for the first time for a 3-year term in training” and the draft resolution on amendments to the “Territorial jurisdiction of the courts of appeal, serious crimes, military, administrative and commercial of the Republic of Azerbaijan”.
Then, current issues were considered, including disciplinary proceedings against judges.
The meeting adopted decisions on the termination of the powers of some first and appellate courts, as well as the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, member of the Judicial and Legal Council, Saadat Bektashi, due to his reaching the age limit for exercising his judicial powers, and on awarding them with the honorary badge of the Judicial and Legal Council for their effective activities.
