Held the International Conference on “The role of the judiciary in a democratic society” dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Judicial-Legal Council`s activity. Chairman of the Supreme Court of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic  Ramiz Suleymanov was in Baku to participate in the confrance.

Opening the conference the chairman of the Judicial-Legal Council, Justice Minister Fikret Mammadov mentioned that, the reforms founded by National Leader Heydar Aliyev is successfully developing by President Ilham Aliyev, he spoke about achievements on the orders of the head of state for modernization of judicial activity, stressed a consecutive measures taken on the improvement of the judicial system, the transparent selection and training of judges, principal evaluations of their activities, elimination of law violation, procrastination and other negative cases.

Speaking at the conference, head of the department for Work with Law-Enforcement Bodies of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Fuad Aleskerov, chairman of the Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev, chairman of the Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev, General Prosecutor Zakir Qaralov and deputy chairwoman of the Parlament of Azerbaijan Republic Bahar Muradova noted the reforms carried out in our country on strengthening the judicial power and future duties.

Also, at the event the vice-president of European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ), Irakli Adeishvili, the judges of the European Court of Human Rights Ganna Yudkivska, Dmitry Dedov, Khanlar Hajiyev, rector of the Academy of Justice of Turkey Mustafa Artuç spoke about the international mechanisms on implementation of judicial reforms and reliable protection of human rights, the role of the European Court`s precedents in the development of national judicial practice, means of increasing the efficiency of justice and rational discussion and exchange of views was held.

After the conference, with the participation of the guests in the Judicial-Legal Council was opened the museum dedicated to the history of justice and the role of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in creation of a modern judicial system.
